No need to book a ticket for this highly anticipated vacation.

The movie adaptation of Emily Henry’s novel People We Meet on Vacation will soon be making its way to Netflix. And to say Emily Bader and Tom Blyth’s performances as Poppy Wright and Alex Nilson got her seal of approval is almost an understatement.

It was amazing, it really was,” Henry told E! News in an exclusive interview of watching her novel come to life in the Brett Haley-directed movie. “I was lucky enough to get to do some set visits, so I got to see it in real life and knew that it worked. But getting to actually see a cut of the movie, they’ve changed the characters in my in my head, which I think is the sign of a really great movie.”

That said, they’re still the same BFFs she envisioned for the 2021 book—just with a small twist.

“It’s not like they’re totally different people,” she continued, “but they embodied the characters in a way that the characters shifted for me slightly and became more Tom and Emily than they were when I initially wrote the book.”
