The 28-year-old often skips out on having three meals a day and prefers to have just one, he told Men’s Healthin a profile published Jan. 2. More often than not, he’s helping himself to chili con carne he’s previously made a batch of or something of the sort at home.
But of course, Tom’s diet isn’t always limited to his singular mealtime as it depends greatly on the roles he finds himself preparing for. While trying to drop weight for his role in The Crowded Room, he recalled that restricting himself to such extent was, “extremely painful.”
No stranger to bulking up for roles—he has played Spider-Man in Spider-Man Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe—he prefers taking that route to dropping weight. Still, trying to put on weight comes with its own challenges.
