Applications are open for the Maxwell King PhD Scholarship 2025-2026 at Monash University. The Maxwell King Scholarship (MKS) is named after Professor Maxwell King, who has made an outstanding contribution to graduate research at Monash University, including eight years as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Research Training).
This prestigious scholarship is available to help support a student undertaking a PhD with living costs whilst studying at a Monash campus in Australia. They offer two scholarships per year:

- One in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
- One in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) disciplines.
Scholarship
The MKS provides:
- a living allowance (stipend);
- a research allowance; and
- a relocation allowance, if eligible.
Eligibility
You must be one of the following:

- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
- An International student
Application
Graduate research scholarships applications are submitted at the same time as your course application, unless you are already enrolled. Whether you are a new applicant or a current student, the myApp Portal is used for both course admission and scholarship applications. You do not need to select specific scholarships, eligible applicants are automatically considered for all available graduate research scholarships.
Note: This prestigious scholarship is awarded in the 31 October scholarship round only. Eligible applicants from Rounds 1 through to 4 (of the same year) will automatically be considered for nomination by the relevant faculty.
