Applications are open for the Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC) Black Medical Student Bursary 2025. The FFBC Black Medical Student Bursary is a needs-based award created to support Black students entering their first year of medical school at select Canadian institutions. This bursary reflects the Foundation for Black Communities’ commitment to advancing health equity and ensuring that Black communities are represented and supported across all levels of healthcare.
They recognize the systemic challenges that Black students face in accessing and completing medical training, and this program is designed to empower the next generation of Black physicians by providing both financial relief and a signal of community support.

Scholarship
- Each recipient will receive a $10,000 bursary to help alleviate the financial barriers associated with pursuing a medical education.
Eligibility

To be considered for the bursary, applicants must:
- Demonstrate community leadership and involvement;
- Self-identify as Black (including African, Caribbean, African Nova Scotian, or multiracial with Black ancestry);
- Be entering the first year of medical school;
- Demonstrate financial need.
Eligible Institutions: Dalhousie University, Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), and McGill University
