Deadline: May 18, 2025

Applications are open for the European Journalism X AI – Artificial Intelligence Fellowship 2025. This fellowship is designed to support journalists — especially those from marginalized and underrepresented communities in Europe— in harnessing the power of AI in their work. During 2025 and 2026 Hostwriter will award a total of 100 stipends for fellows from their network.

As artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the media landscape, Hostwriter is inviting journalists across Europe to be part of the conversation. In partnership with the Centre for Public Impact, featuring training from Google and Hostwriter, this 4-session online program will run throughout the month of June 2025. Fellows will learn how to responsibly and effectively integrate AI into journalism, gaining hands-on knowledge and practical tools to take their reporting to the next level.

From navigating bias in algorithms to using AI in story discovery, participants will leave with a grounded, critical understanding of what AI can (and can’t) do for journalism. If you are new to AI essentials, this training will be particularly useful. This is a space to reflect, connect, and gain skills in one of the most transformative areas in journalism.

Benefits

Selected fellows will receive:
