Deadline: January 15, 2025
Applications are open for the Comics Advocacy Group (CAG) Mini Grant 2025. The CAG Mini Grant provides small, unrestricted funding to comic creators who are in need of additional resources. As the cost of food and rent are growing prohibitive, many creators find themselves taking on additional work with time they do not have in order to make ends meet. Ther goal in offering this $500 mutual aid grant is to give cartoonists some time and space to work on the projects most important to them.
Earlier this year, CAG awarded the first round of mini grants to thirty recipients. They checked in with them recently and were delighted by the breadth of responses they received. Awardees were able to use the CAG Mini Grant to turn down low-paying gigs, purchase art supplies, strengthen their CVs, pay for rent and childcare, buy groceries, and more.
