Fashion’s biggest night is here—and the 2025 Met Gala red carpet is in full swing.
In fact, Colman Domingo, La La Anthony, Emma Chamberlain and Teyana Taylor have already arrived to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, where the star-studded event is held each year. For the 2025 Met Gala, Vogue‘s Anna Wintour will be joined by co-chairs A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton and Pharrell Williams.
LeBron James, previously announced as an honorary co-chair, confirmed on X May 5 that he’s unable to attend due to an injury he sustained at the end of the Los Angeles Lakers’ NBA season.
Each attendee at the event will be following this year’s “Tailored for You” dress code, which coincides with the Costume Institute’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibit.
According to Vogue, the theme—inspired by Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity—will “explore the role of sartorial style in forming Black identities, focusing on the emergence, significance, and proliferation of the Black dandy.”
As Miller, a guest curator, shared in a February statement, “Dandyism can seem frivolous, but it often poses a challenge to or a transcendence of social and cultural hierarchies.”
