Meg Ryan, you’ve got fashion.

The Sleepless in Seattle star made her first Oscars appearance in nearly 30 years at the 97th Academy Awards March 2—hosted by Conan O’Brien—and she owned the red carpet in a captivating gown.

The 63-year-old donned a strapless red velvet dress with thigh-high slits on either side of the gown. Meg completed the look with a pair of strappy black platform heels and a white diamond bracelet. She also wore her hair in her signature wavy bob for the awards ceremony (Click here to see all of the 2025 Oscars red carpet fashion.)

Later in the evening, Meg presented alongside Billy Crystal, awarding Anora the Oscar for Best Picture, beating out The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance and Wicked.

The You’ve Got Mail star last attended the Oscars in 1998 alongside then-husband Dennis Quaid. For that event, Meg sported a long-sleeved black dress, which complemented Dennis’ black tux and tie. The duo both donned pairs of dark sunglasses, as well.
