Applications are open for the Loughborough University Vice-Chancellor Independent Research Fellowships 2025. They are looking for outstanding early career researchers who have recently completed their PhD to join Loughborough University to develop and establish an independent research career. These prestigious, highly competitive 2-year Research Fellowships offer a rare opportunity for outstanding postdoctoral scholars to establish their own ambitious research agenda, develop their skills as independent researchers, and position themselves as future research leaders.
Loughborough University values the contribution that postdoctoral researchers make to the research community and will provide a package of support, including a Loughborough University academic mentor, dedicated training, and specialist Fellowship advice. During the Vice-Chancellor Independent Research Fellowship, you will be expected to submit applications for externally funded Research Fellowships, to set you on a trajectory to accelerate your research career.

Benefits
- Up to 10 positions – from £34,866 per annum, commensurate with experience.
Eligibility
- Open to early career researchers;
- Your PhD (or other doctoral qualification) must have been awarded between December 2, 2021 and December 2, 2024. This means any corrections following your viva examination must have been completed to the examiners’ satisfaction by the closing date for applications.
Application
The closing date for applications is December 2, 2024. Interview dates are expected to take place during the week commencing February 24, 2025 for all Schools and Strategic Themes.
